Did he promise to send Wes the tapes he's owed for about a year? MAIS NON. He sent Wes a nasty bullshit letter about being too busy (every day for the past year???) and said people who collect boots have no life. Then he unsubbed from this list. Good riddance, I say, but poor Wes has been shafted. Gee, last time I heard, it was supposed to be boot TRADE, not boot GIVEAWAY. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ La Salle Ticket Wanted ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If anyone knows a student at La Salle who would be willing to buy me a ticket, please have them contact me, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ RE: I Want More DC/Baltimore Reviews ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ in responding to Joanna, there were a couple posts about the dc and baltimore show's. Amber and Pat had great stories. as far as for me. i went to the baltimore show and had a blast. it wasn't too packed and they seemed really into it. a mosh pit broke out for the last 10 minutes or so, but basically the crowd was decent. a lot of them didn't know too many songs, but they were enjoying the show nonetheless and that is what matters. hopefully, they'll be back soon bobby ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ RE: I Want More DC/Baltimore Reviews ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ well, to those of you who unfortunatley could not make the DC show, not to rub it in or anything...it was awesome! well, obviously it was awesome, when couldn't a femmes show be awesome. anyway, the set they played was great. i don't have the list, but i'm sure pat did. that was one of the coolest things of the night actually. i got to meet pat. ( you're awesome!) i was all the way up front, it was impossible to get any closer to the band unless i could get on stage. the crowd was pretty nice, too. there was the occasional moshing and surfing, but nothing way too bad at all. each guy took his turn playing kiss ass solos on their respective instruments. and they played for a while too. they didn't even go on until 1130 or so, and the opening chick was alright. all her songs were basically the same. feminist, young adult angst. but it was cute. after the third song it got kinda old though. but when the femmes came on, it was all good. i was a great show for dancing. i danced the whole entire time. and they played good feelings, one of their best songs, in my opinion. it was wonderful. ok, so i didn't really dance to that song. but i swayed. anyway, after the show, my friends and i started talking to one of the crew people who also played bass for brian while he was kicking some ass on the xylophone. we metioned that we had met the guys before and he said he would go get us some backstage passes. awesome. oh yeah, and the tickets were free for us, too. one of my friend's boyfriend knows people in high places and got us tickets. that was cool too. anyway, we got the talk to the guys again, and meet some people from the mailing list. (hi travis!) brian remembered my friend danica's name and guy remembered my name. (his daughter's name is whitney too!) the guy who got us the passes let us in on the hotel info, room number and everything. we wanted to go chill with the guys, but they weren't even going to be there, they had to leave for ny. anyway, the show was absolutely wonderful, i had a great time, and if you who could not make it want anymore of my rambling, let me know. i'd be glad to write more. i hope i helped some, and remember...keep smilin. "nothing left to do, but smile, smile, smile" whitney ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ RE: Amber's Cat ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In Amberlace's story about Good Gordon Hunting, she made what I think was a reference to Wally Pleasant. "But the cat came back, the very next day . . ." Of course I was thrilled to see that possibly someone likes Wally besides me. Actually, I was thrilled to see that someone has HEARD of Wally besides me. SOOOOO, I was wondering if that was indeed a reference to him, and if so, does anyone else like his stuff? Valerie ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ RE: Sex and Candy ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I don't think that "Sex and Candy" sounds like the Femmes. When I first heard it I thought of The Presidents.. It reminded me of their (The Presidents) first album. Jamigrl *Experience is often what you get when you were expecting something else.* *The surest sign that intelligent life exist elsewhere in the universe is that it has never tried to contact us.* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ New Album Bullshit ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ from what i hear the only reason that there hasn't been a new album released in years is because they're having problems with their label. i got three words for that "problem": get off a major label and put it on an indie, or even yourself. they're definitely big enough to do it. bands who play in bars put out their own stuff and these guys can sell out auditoriums. its a bunch of bullshit that they have had material for an album for a long time but have kept the fans waiting for so long. love and malt liquer, one pissed off muda fucka (SEBASTIAN) o.y. if any can tell me more about the charlotte show (if its a festival, who's playing, where to get tix) i'd appreciate it. -Pat. Says:Well, they DID put out ROCK, and we all know how much attention THAT got over here in the US. What a waste. Such a nice little album yet so little exposure. How many people on this list didn't even HEAR about ROCK until they heard about it here? As to Charlotte, this was in the Mar. 13 issue, thanks to ddearry Concerning the Center City Fest date in Charlotte NC, Friday, April 24.. It's a street festival in downtown Charlotte -just like the Carolina Music Festival last September for those of you who went! For those of you who didn't - they close off about 5 city blocks and set up temporary stages (at this point 4) at the corners of the area. There are food and drink vendors, artists, street performers etc. and there is NO way this can sell out! It's a 3 day festival but none of the headlining acts have been confirmed yet. They were surprised to learn VF had a firm date on their page. Dunno! Anyway tickets are $10 bucks and are *scheduled* to go on sale this Friday. You can charge through ticket monster by phone or just wait and pay $15 at the gate that day! (I would suggest this!) Or you can buy a three day pass for $25. Linda at Ark Mgmt. said NOTHING is definite yet but she will let me know as soon as she gets the official line-up and ticket info! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Singles? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Has anybody heard anything about what singles are expected to be released off of Freak Magnet? -patwary ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
