Viva Wisconsin Notes? They played the Femmes on the 6 AM news!! ...To All My Fellow Canadians... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Today, I have reestablished myself in my sons' eyes as World's Coolest Mom...this weekend I am taking them to a Smash Mouth w/Citizen Kane concert at Susquehannah University. So if you write Saturday night, don't expect a quick response... One more thing, the need to finance two budding motocross careers has necessitated my taking on a job which pays actual money, and so I have a part-time job on Mondays and Tuesdays, from 9-7. Whether or not I will be able to put out an issue on Monday will depend upon how I feel, but if I can, I will try to post either very early in the morning or late at night on Mondays. If not, you will see issues on Wednesdays and Fridays. That's the plan, anyways. I am now an opitmetric technician. For the first time in my life, I almost wish I had taken biology courses in college as a minor related to my chemistry major rather than physics... No, I lie. I still have an aversion to biology. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Urgent RE: Later Craig Kilborn 11/19 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Caught a programming note about tomorrow night's show, and not only are they playing on the show, but afterwards they are doing a live webcast at 7:30 pm, pt and 10:30, et. I am not at all sure if this is from CBS website or from Later Show's Website. Since I am not a regular viewer of Later Show, I don't even know if they have their own web site or just run out of CBS. Hope this is helpful. Lirker -Pat. Says: Go to http://www.cbs.com/femmes . The show webcast should start between 10:00 and 10:15 ET USA. Thanks for letting us know about this! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Last Night's Chat ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Did anybody besides me have a problem with the RealAudio stream? Mine locked up on the announcer, and stopped there. All in all, it was better imho than most chat sessions; I liked the fact that there was a moderator, because otherwise there might have been sheer anarchy and confusion like the last chat session. They didn't ask my question, tho :( ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Viva Line-Up? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ hey i was wondering if blister in the sun is on "viva wisconsin", and if it is did they release it as a single (or whatever they do to get it on the radio)? i was in the weight room the other day and a live version of bits came on (very shocking because they usually play country or rap that i don't understand), and i had never heard it before so i thought it was from the new album. i got some wierd looks from the football players, but that's okay. thanks, erin erin Ear4888 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Viva Wisconsin Notes? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Can anyone tell me about the tracklisting for the new CD, if it tells you which songs were taken from which show on that wisconsin tour? I was at the Pabst Theatre show & have been trying to get a bootleg of that whole show also. -Tom thunderroad_98 -Pat. Says: The Official Homepage will give you and Erin a track listing, but I have no idea if the CD will say from which show each track is recorded. Maybe I'll be able to tell you more Monday, or one of the EU subscribers can tell you before that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ They played the Femmes on the 6 AM news!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wow. The Femmes are everywhere. I love it. So here I was, sitting at the computer and *trying* to figure out how to do my wedding cheap. The morning news is on in the background and I'm not paying much attention. Then they run this semi-interesting expose titled "Do looks matter?" (duh!) They had this woman spent 2 days in the same spot with a *broken down* car, trying to get assistance. The first day she's fixed up sexy, the next day she's a scrub... and WHAT song do they play in the background while she's slumming it? UGLY!! :) Needless to say, it made my day hearing Femmes first thing in the morning... I squealed and woke up my poor roommate. She doesn't understand the obsession. In fact, whenever I play "Never Tell," she pointedly leaves the room... :( Oh well. I guess Femmes freaks are a special breed. love, peace, and brightest blessings, Jennifer P.S. As for the *experiment* on the news--when she was sexy, 9 people stopped in 20 minutes. When she was a bum, 1 stopped in 40 minutes. Are we surprised? :) supergigi17 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ...To All My Fellow Canadians... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Greetings from Vancouver, Canada. Delurking for a moment to add the following: I May Be From Canada But... Hi, Dave. I believe Cooking Vinyl in the UK, where Viva Wisconsin has already been released, will be arranging for the release of the CD here in Canada through one of their local distributors...most likely Page Music or True North Records. I've sent them an email...I'll let you know if I hear anything back. If this is the case, from my past experience of buying releases from Cooking Vinyl, it could be another 2 weeks to a month before it is released here domestically...boohoo. Cheapest price that I've seen it here as an import is about $35CDN. Otherwise, my best suggestion would be to buy it from CDNow next week when it is released in the US...there are a ton of CD Now coupons floating around the internet that you could probably use too...I will most likely take this route. By the way, I may be repeating this here but Cooking Vinyl's website has soundbites of about 12 of the songs from Viva Wisconsin via Real Audio. Here's the link: http://www.cookingvinyl.com/vfemmes/pre.html RE: This and That... Hi, Glenn. Nice to know that there is another Vancouverite on this list...weather sucks, huh. Anyways, I too am very excited to hear that the Commodore is open again. Too bad that the acts that are playing there for the rest of the year are rather poor. Apparently a lot of the shows are already sold out though...sounds as if a lot of people are happy that the venue is alive. Saw the UK magazine Uncut yesterday. On the CD that comes with the magazine, the Viva Wisconsin version of "Blister In The Sun" is included. I didn't get a chance to leaf through it very thoroughly but I believe there is a review of the album in the mag as well. Best regards, Ray raoki ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
