Attachment: The attachment is a file taken from the sender's computer and will have the extension .bat, .com, .lnk or .pif added to it. Message: The message body will be semi-random, but will always contain one of the following two lines (either English or Spanish) as the first and last sentences of the message. First line: Hi! How are you? Last line: See you later. Thanks Between these two sentences, some of the following text may appear: I send you this file in order to have your advice I hope you can help me with this file that I send I hope you like the file that I sendo you This is the file with the information that you ask for This worm is capable of: Large Scale e-mailing via its own smtp engine where the worm appends a random document from the infected PC to itself and sends this new file via email. Deleting files on an infected system. Degrading performance on your computer. Possibly releasing confidential information from your computer." Just to let you guys know, I have received thousands of copies of this particular virus over the past few months, most apparently originating from subscribers of this newsletter, since many of you have my email address in your address books. I recently received six such messsages in quick succession from one subscriber alone. Please, don't open attachments unless you are expecting one, or unless you check with the original sender as to its legitimacy.
