I was planning on going to this and now don't see the tour listed on the Femmes site or on Pollsstar :( :( :( :( >> I have tickets for that show, actually they are tickets from the last show that was supposed to be there I think July 25, 2000. I called Ticketmaster to ask how to get a refund for the 10/25 show and was told that when the show is officially canceled, I would receive a credit. So far, no credit. Could this still be a possibility? If they do this show, the outpouring of love, devotion and enthusiam from the Femmes loving population would be enormous. Come on guys, we miss you all so much!! I have heard from a few friends that the Femmes are supposed to be playing at a private party for all students at Millsaps College in Jackson, MS. According to my friends, only students of Millsaps can attend. The Femmes played there a couple of years ago and only students could attend. Has anyone else heard about this? Mike mike_bulldog -Pat. Says: Aside from the still unconfirmed Hammerstein date, there are no others at this point. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Femmes' First 2 Albums Re-released ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Femmes' first two albums, "Violent Femmes" and "Hallowed Ground," are now out of print in the U.S., but not after October, when WEA/Atlantic/Rhino Records re-releases them. Hopefully they'll be remastered with maybe a few bonus tracks thrown in. CDNow says they'll be out on Oct. 3, Rhino says Oct. 17. I have always considered punk to be more of an attitude and a style than a type of music. Anyone who is ahead of everyone else, doing a completely original thing, or just too weird to fit anywhere else is punk. Mozart was the first punk. People shook their heads at his music and thought he was a total freak. I consider the Femmes punk because they are not like anybody else. Try describing them to someone who has never heard their music. Who do you say they sound like? They don't sound like anybody. Try not to immediately see pink mohawks and safety pins when you think of punk, and you should be able to see what I mean. Barb p.s. And now that school has started again I don't feel like staying up to watch it, so I tape it and watch it after school. Well today I was watching last nights (Thurs. 28th) and he was talking about the guests that were going to be on that night. "Violent Femmes are here tonight" I was thinking "awsome! its a rerun from when they were on before and i missed it" wrong... turns out it wasn't a rerun they were just on again.. they played Good Feelings it was pretty cool... so I have it on tape in case we do another compilation video sometime in the future I can actually add to it... speaking of compilation videos...
