This is VERY cool. The HOB broadcast I mean. The sound quality is excellent! Okay so about half way through the show I started thinking about how that one guy said he just wanted the Femmes to "Rock Out" and about how everyone's been submitting their dream concert line-up. What about dreaming up a set? We've all left a show wishing we'd heard something, I feel badly for saying this, but I was pretty disappointed with the Summerfest set. Listening to it again tonight, though, I realized it really wasn't that bad. I guess it just didn't fit my mood then. So I decided to give set writing a go - it's a lot tougher than I thought! I want to hear all my favorites - but I found there's no way to work them all in there - some of them just don't go together. You also can't just throw the songs out there in random order - you have to plan peaks & valleys in the tension - take it to the edge and back and at some point over - but when?
