Not bad; in almost 2 years of running this thing, that was the only time my server crashed in the middle of a send. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Baltimore Show...Freedom Fest ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi Pat! The Baltimore Show was the BEST !!! I think everyone will agree?! I did find out something pretty important though--VF's were just added to the list of bands playing at the Freedom Fest at the MCI Center in Washington DC---'F' Street between 6th and 9th Streets-- NW(NorthWest) on the 4th of July!!!! We saw it on a flyer that was there and mentioned it to Gordon after the show--he had no idea about this--I guess they added it last week and forgot to tell the guys!! I am very excited about it!!! :-) Stacey stacey ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Newark Show ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I just wrote a nice long review of the Newark show and lost it as I was sending it, So I'll try again. I could write this hole post in Capital letters because that would explain how great this show was. The venue was a huge park, 2-3 stages, 10-15 thousand people, nice grassy lawn to sit or stand on, hot, sunny, glorious day. The show started at 3:00 (the newspaper said 4:30, Gordon thought 3:30 and Darren KNEW it was 3:00. Darren wins!) The guys seemed really happy and relaxed. Everyone smiled a lot and joked a lot. They played mostly old favorites with the exception of I'm Nothin and Rejoice and Be Happy. The audience was a mixed age crowd from the old fogies in their fold-up lawn chairs, young families with adorable little kids to the very enthusiastic Femmes fans at the front of the stage(including this lawnchairless old fogie!). Highlights were solos by Tony Triska on banjo (the man is amazing), and Paul (I can't remember his last name) on sax. Tony did a really great solo on Country Death Song and he and Brian dueted on Add IT UP. They seem to enjoy playing together. Tony said they are thinking of doing a project together. Of course the highlight for me was Black Girls featuring one of my favorite people on the planet, my son Dan, playing with my favorite band on the planet. He can't wait to do it again. We left half way into Los Lobos' set because the sun was getting a little too hot and I got home 4:00 this morning from a Morphine concert in NY. I'm wiped out but extremely happy. Have a great week everyone. Marylee Rubaiyat ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Shake Rattle and Roll ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hey everybody- I'm guessing nobody is really expecting there to be a post from me anymore, but I do have stuff to write about and it does have to do with what other people have written, and what I have written. I'm very sorry about my last post where I was really mean, I was very stressed out and cranky, and I just caught myself at a bad time when I wrote that post. I actually do like hearing about people's concert going experiences, because it gives me something to look forward to, or something to have to out do (i'm very competitive, sorry, plus i like adventures). So, if you guys could just find it in your hearts to put that behind you and actually read what i write (you don't have to if you don't want to, there's really nothing i can do about it) i'd be much obliged. SUMMERFEST!!!!! MILWAUKEE!!!! JUNE 26!!!! marcus amphitheater!(not as excited about venue as concert, would prefer area without seating so as to dance like mad) I AM SOOOOOO there, definitely put me down as going. even if i had a family reunion (i understand that in rob's family he has to abide by certain rules, however in my family my brother and i are the oldest grandchildren and are treated like adults and get away with all kinds of stuff) I would find a way to go. I would fake the flu, fake anything, I would GO to the concert, there would be no stopping me. I will be buying my tickets on wednesday afternoon, and hoping that i can get some nice seats (even though i am against seats) and I will be there. I would borrow the pink flamingo from rob to take to the concert, but I wouldn't be willing to carry it around all day, so i'd probably lose it, and have to pay him back, and i prefer to spend my money on things other than paying people back for lawn decorations. Anyways, I'm GOING to the concert, so Pat you can put me down on the list thingy. Regarding Greg's request for who had a copy of FM. I just so happen to have a copy of it, on tape though, and I would be willing to send a copy to someone, but there would have to be some prior negotiations and agreements made. So, if you are interested in this, you can contact me, and we can work it through. I can't make any promises ahead of time, because you have to agree to all of my terms (there are like 3 of them, so it's not that tough) and a couple of other things, and only then will i be willing to send this to you. I'm going to a femmes concert! yay! -Beky Extatika p.s.- I still watch mtv. -Pat. Says: Please note that Beky is only offering a tape copy she already has to Greg, and Greg only. Please do not inundate her with requests for copies. As far as I know, she is not in the bootleg business. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
