I would like to ask you all PLEASE, if you are lucky enough to find a copy, do not make copies of it for all your friends and cosubscribers. In fact, if you do manage to find a promo copy at a record store or sale, don't even tell anyone that you have it. Keep it your delicious little secret. Unlike boots and previously released albums, this CD, if copied extensively, could in fact depress the sales of Freak Magnet when it is at last released. If you know anyone not on this list who has a copy, please ask them not to make copies of it as well. Please do not ask anyone for copies of this CD yourself. The subscriber who recently announced that she has a copy has requested that no one ask her for a copy. She hates to say no, but realizes that it is necessary to do so. I know it's hard, waiting for this long hoped for release, but please exercise some restraint and be patient. That's actually really cool that the Femmes might be playing a smaller stage at Summerfest. I imagine they'll probably play New Rock 102.1's Leinie Lodge stage if they are playing a free stage. You don't even need a handstamp for that stage. They also might be playing Laser 103's Rock Stage, which is still free, but you have to get a handstamp for it earlier in the day. The cool thing about that stage though is that all the headlining shows on that stage are broadcast live on Laser 103 (102.9). I'm hoping the show's really early in the day though (not likely), cuz I'm seeing Pearl Jam at Alpine Valley on the 26th, and i'm camping out there that night because I'm also seeing Pearl Jam there again the very next day. Any word on the BoDeans (Wisconsin's 2nd greatest band) playing Summerfest this year? Looks like this reggie white topic has brought some differing opinions...and the hateful ones all seem to come from people who say they had no idea who he was until now. well, Reggie's an incredible football player & a *very* nice & friendly guy with some strong religious values (which may or may not agree with your personnal ones or mine). The point is that he's one of the greatest football players ever and a nice guy at heart...just like OJ Simpson. But I bring good news!! The new issue of CMJ (it has Garbage on the cover) has on it's cd one track from the femmes (drum roll please) Freak Magnet. When the issue went to press they thought it was still coming out, so there is a bogus release date, a small Q&A with Gordon, and the saddest freaking quote (in light of later events) from himself in the cd liner notes. Buy it. Oh yea, and above you get one of my longer run on sentences.
