Femmes Hodgepodge RE: Sabrina "Add it Up" Radio Show ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chocolate Fest Info Needed ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Is there any info on the Chocolate Fest show yet? Will we need tickets besides the ones to get into the festival? Any info is appreciated. Josh ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Brandeis Info ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Limpbizkithead gave me some info on the Brandeis show. Call 1-781-736-4750 for the Brandeis student center. They said the show is at 8:00. Tickets are available by calling 1-617-423-NEXT. -Grover53 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Waltham Directions Needed ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ i am going to attend the show in waltham, MA on april 2. i was wondering where in waltham the show will be. is it hard to find? (the university that is) oh yeah, any word on an opening band? buffalo tom i hope! later jp -Pat. Says: For directions to Brandeis, go to http://www.brandeis.edu/directions.html Just watch the signs carefully. If you need tix ahead of time, they're available through NEXT tickets. Call the number Grover53 posted, or check out their webpage at http://www.boston.com/next/next1/index.html for Newbury Comics locations. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Want to Go to LaSalle ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I got a question How the heck can I get tickets to the LAsalle show. IT is the only show semi near philly. and I wanna go madly. Please tell me how to get the tickets thanks dan -Pat. Says: The problem will be to find a LaSalle student who will buy you tickets. Kyle wrote in last week or so and said he'd once checked out the student webpages at a school and wrote to a bunch out of the blue. Scored himself tix that way. It's a desperation manoeuvre, but WTF. It could work. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ May Release? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I heard that the femmes are comming out with an album in May, is this true. - -Pat. Says: Yuppers. Look for Freak Magnet in May. James, wasn't it you who heard the exact release date on the radio? I'm too lazy to read my back issues. What was it again? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Femmes Hodgepodge ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ OK, this post is regarding a few topics being discussed on the list. I thought I would put it all in one post. Anyway, Regarding the similarities to the Femmes and Marcy Playground... I don't see it. I think that MP lacks the raw energy that the VF add to their mix. The femmes have probably been the best concert I have experienced... I have been to seven of theirs (I know, not as many as you older fans..but hey, it's a start :). A close second would probably be Soul Asylum or REM or U2. I, like everyone else here, am waiting impatiently for their next album. I will probably rush whatever store I see that day (I will be going to DC that day it is supposed to come out). I was wondering if anyone had any leads to any Brian Ritchie albums...I was planning a deal from someone here in Canada I would say in Oct/Nov time...my email was changed, so I left the list for a while. If you are out there let me know... I would like to hear his older stuff!!! I think thats it for now, Alden -Pat. Says: Try checking out http://www.roundflat.com (Think that's right). The biggest problem with RoundFlat is it took 6 weeks for me to get my BR stuff. Deanna knows of a place to get them not only cheaper, but faster too. Deanna, could you write Alden and me with that URL? I highly recommend BR's solo stuff. I don't know how many times I've woken up humming "Sun-Ra, man from out of space". Whereas the songs on Gordon's Mercy Seat all could easily fit in any VF album, Brian's stuff is not as obviously influenced by the VF. However, I think the reason I always have so much fun listening to VF music is that Brian injects so much of his personality into the expression of the music of the VF. Hell, this is all IMHO, but it seems to me that Gordon is the voice and Brian is the soul of the VF. I welcome any input on this subject. Seems to me it's a great topic to hold us over till the next batch of concerts and the album release. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ RE: Sabrina ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In a message dated 98-03-25 14:04:42 EST, you write: << a blessing in disguise you haven't seen it. It was painful. The show is awful, with or without the VF. I should talk...saw it all three times. >> don't listen to Pat!! Sabrina and her little black cat are both very very..adorable!!! Talking cat....teenage witch...incredible!!!! What an idea....her best role since Clarrisa explains it all!!!! I have a picture of her above my bed....i'm serious!!!! - -Pat. Says: And there's your proof that long cold lonely Maine winters can drive one mad. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Add it Up" Radio Show ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm sure ya'll have heard this, but in my town (Champaign, IL) they have a radio show called Add It Up where they play the eight most requested songs of the day. In the commercial, they play- you guess it- part of "Add It Up"... the "wait a minute honey" part. Wow- been a while since I posted on AM. -- Paul -- "You know I play whatever I feel like playing..." -Miles Davis ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
