I'll keep you posted on futher developements. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I Want More DC/Baltimore Reviews ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi everyone. I was supposed to go to either the Baltimore or DC show, but nobody who could drive me there would come with me. So basically, I missed out on both concerts. And I am still damn pissed. But I hadn't read anything about either of these shows. So, just so I can feel sorry for myself some more, could people who went please tell me how the concert was? Thanks, Joanna ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ RE: No Talking, Just Head ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > there is an album by the Heads (the Talking Heads minus David Byrne) > called > "No Talking Just Head" Where several guest performers stand in and do > songs. Gordon Gano does a track called "Only the Lonely" I think. Yes, and a very depressing song, if I remember from my listen at Blockbuster. I think that the album was supposed to be a sort of tryout for a new lead singer to replace David Byrne. I never heard if any of the guest singers will fill the bill-anyone else? ALSO JUST IN.......Did anyone see a new show last week called (I think) "Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place" on Wed. night? The theme song/intro is Blister, bump bump-bump bump! Check it out... -Cheryl - -Pat. Says: If anyone wants to check it out, my TV Guide says it's on tonight, 9:30 Eastern, on ABC. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ RE: Good Gordon Hunting ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ >Here's the story. While we >were getting ready to leave for the theater, my friend Cris said his >roomate had said the funniest thing about the Femmes. "Oh really! >What?!!" was my naive reply. "Well, we were listening to Marcy's >Playground and Jared said, 'Ya know, this is what the Violent Femmes >would sound like if they could actually PLAY their instruments!'" Actually, in a review in Entertainment Weekly of "Sex and Candy" they said it sounded like the Violent Femmes minus the intensity. I took that as an insult. I don't think Marcy Playground sounds jack shit like the Femmes, not even that one song. They are pretty good, but I cannot see any comparisons with the Femmes. Well, actually, the guy's voice in Sex and Candy is sort of like Gordon minus the intensity but it's supposed to be that way. Oh yeah, and Brian Ritchie is one of the best bass players there is. So fuck you to Jared. Big fuck you up the ass with a #2 pencil. Nick -Pat. Says: I don't see the MP/VF similarity either. When I first heard the song I would have bet the farm it was Cracker. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ RE: World Without Mercy ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi!! I purchased the tape version of "The Blind Leading the Naked" (new) just four years ago and I have seen it around in various music stores. It shouldn't be too hard to find. Isn't the song sung/written by Victor?? Anyway, I like the song and that's why I bought the tape, just to hear it! It's worth finding! Good luck, Ryan "Without friends, we only have our butts!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ RE:New Perspective ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Because I was too concentrated on getting to the front of the stage, >too busy waiting for people to move. Sometimes you just have to shove your way through, atleast that's what I do. "Diane, remind me to find out what these magestic trees are." -Agent Dale Cooper, Twin Peaks http://members.tripod.com/~SmedlundA/Angies-Page.html (Remember: It's HIGHLY under construction!!!) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What's His Name ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > and >Ed-what's-his-name from "Live") his name is edward kowalczyk for anyone would would care to know ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Modern Rock Live? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hey, sorry, have been away from school and missed out on a lot of issues, any word as of yet when the femmes are going to be on modern rock live? thanks a ton. kevin ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
