I would need a ride from either Wilkes-Barre PA or Brodheadsville PA, which is near stroudsburg PA. i mean i could meet someone somewhere..because I dont have my own car, and i dont think i could get my parents car for sunday...if it wouldve been on a friday or saturday, then it would be fine...but....oh well...someone please get back to me ASAP so i can get a ticket. thanks jen -Pat. Says: Unless you know someone at LaSalle, you're going to have to miss this show. I got this in the mail: <> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bellarmine Info ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi Pat! Just heard back from Bellarmine College about the April 7th date. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 20th. You can charge by phone with MC/Visa - call 502-452-8150. There will be only 3000 tickets sold so don't wait too long! I'm also working on the details for the Atlanta and Charlotte shows. I will post it as soon as I get confirmations! -ddearry ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Charlotte Info ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Concerning the Center City Fest date in Charlotte NC, Friday, April 24.. It's a street festival in downtown Charlotte -just like the Carolina Music Festival last September for those of you who went! For those of you who didn't - they close off about 5 city blocks and set up temporary stages (at this point 4) at the corners of the area. There are food and drink vendors, artists, street performers etc. and there is NO way this can sell out! It's a 3 day festival but none of the headlining acts have been confirmed yet. They were surprised to learn VF had a firm date on their page. Dunno! Anyway tickets are $10 bucks and are *scheduled* to go on sale this Friday. You can charge through ticket monster by phone or just wait and pay $15 at the gate that day! (I would suggest this!) Or you can buy a three day pass for $25. Linda at Ark Mgmt. said NOTHING is definite yet but she will let me know as soon as she gets the official line-up and ticket info! -ddearry ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peoria Info Needed ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ if anyone is going to the peoria show in april i would really appreciate any information on where the theater is and how i can get tickets and how much they are and if/whos the opening band. and any other info that would be useful that i forgot to say. this will be a short road trip for me so im very excited for it and i hope everything works out. thank you very much! -shawn ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cigar Page? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Did anyone bookmark the addy for Brian's cigar page?!! I need some info and I can't find it! Thanks -ddearry ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Quotes ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ just a question for all the readers, in the top 10, i saw "(i don't need a quote, because I'm cool that way)" (sorry to use whoever wrote this as an example). i notice now that a lot of people put a quote before they sign out. i was just wondering if this was a thing that we should do or we had to do. oh well, just wondering. (?) ~shannon ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cover Talking Heads ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ i was just wondering...ive been listening to the talking heads too much lately. Is it just me who thinks that the femmes should covor a few of their songs just for the fun of it? id love to go to a femmes show and ...you know Brian could do some babbling and all of a sudden gordon would bust out with some "Sax and Violins", "Burning Down the house" or "Dont Worry About the Government" or "Psycho Killer"...that would be great...just a thought: ) ~shannon -Pat. Says: I've often thought that the VF would do a fine job covering the TH. But I don't think they really care to do covers, except for tribute albums, and to tell the truth, they do such a fine job of coming up with original stuff they don't have to resort to doing covers. And if they did a cover during a show, that'd mean we'd hear one less original song. I don't think I'd like the trade off. Now, if they haven't already come up with a TH tribute, when they finally do get around to it, the VF would be perfect for a song. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SoCal ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ >will my femmes never return to socal? Yes, they will. And they will rock. Harder than they have ever rocked before. Yes. And I will be there. And I will be there. And I will be there as I was the last time they were in Los Angeles in September. Last September. September 16 to be exact. At the Palace. In Hollywood. Melrose Larry from the Howard Stern show was outside. The Femmes will return and it will be the second best concert I will have ever been to. Unless they top last September. They will have trouble doing so. They rock. Hard. Very hard. I will be up in front. Staring at all three of them. At the same time. I will be singing along with everything. All of the girls around will be staring at Gordon. With that look that girls get. That look. Yes. Nick ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Are We Like Sheep? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm going to have to ask you not to send in any more top 10's at this time. The reason is that Monday is Classifieds day, and that means it's already going to be a 2 parter day. I don't want to have to send out 3. Don't worry. This thread is sure to come up again in about 6 months or so, and you can submit then. For those of you who don't know, the subject line of this is from Handel's Messiah. To that I say 'Baaahh': 1. Little Richard 2. Cramps 3. Levellers 4. Therapy? 5. Pixies 6. Fugazi 7. Squirrel Nut Zippers 8. Black 47 9. Pogues 10. Jesus and Mary Chain In no particular order, and not counting VF of course. I've missed the top tens and I guess I neglected to read the entire issue the other day when it was suggested that we start it back up. It was great to see that someone else who love the femmes also was into Limp Bizkit and the Deftones(I have a piece of Chino's towel from the Clinton show with Limp Bizkit).
