They played so many songs I've never heard them play before and oh, they did it with such grace and beauty! Gordon was soooo cute! The Horns of Dilemma were even there and were pretty cool! anyway...the opening band was even good...El Destroyo or something like that (a local SF band). The first opening band I've ever been able to understand lyrics. Here's the setlist in the best order I can remember... open Rejoice and Be Happy (where the hell is Freak Magnet!?) Look Like That (wondeeful!) Waiting For The Bus Country Death Song Blister in the Sun Out the Window Candlelight Song (wowee!) Don't Talk About My Music (cute, but not too cute) Old Mother Reagan Faith (unnecessary) Good Feeling Prove My Love Dance MF Dance (surprised me cuz I wasn't disgusted by it this time...it had an intro too. Went something like this: "normally it's not considered nice to comment on the audience, but i have to say that you guys are rather lethargic tonight...and there's only one thing...one thing you can say to that..." Gimme the Car Bad I Held Her In My Arms (my dream song to hear; would have been much better if Brian would have let Gordon sing it alone) Black Girls I'm Nothing Confessions American Music Gone Daddy Gone Add It Up ENCORES-- Color Me Once Kiss Off (at the end, Brian rolled around stage with this odd thing on his head making strange noises! YAY) I might have forgotten one or two, but I doubt it. okay...it was the best Violent Femmes show I've ever seen! probably one of the better concerts I've ever seen too!
