RE: International VF How'd They Do That? Phil Cody I Wanna See You Again...Looking For Rock ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Have a Good Time ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To those of you going to the Stanford show tomorrow: have a great time, and please remember to submit a report on that show. If you happen to get a setlist, send it out to me. I probably won't post it, but I think I'd like to keep a collection of setlists, in case anyone ever asks, have the VF ever played ? Then I'd be able to answer with authority. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ RE: VF On Piano..See My Ships Tab? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ >Sometime this summer, someone wrote in asking about piano scores for >VF songs. No one responded. I'd like to revive that question. Does >anyone know about this? I'd like to get back to my piano playing, and >starting with VF songs would be great. > WEll, i'm sure that if i took the time i could figure out a piano score for any femmes song that I have guitar music for, i'm not sure how i could send the music over the internet though, unless i made it into a midi file, which would be hard to do because I have a keyboard and a midi program but no cord to connect them... i haven't really done any piano scoring yet, but i know can (actually I was at a camp in Drummond Wisconsin this summer and they had a piano there, and I actually figured out how to play most of "confessions") --- also, does anybody have a TAB of "see my ships"? all I could find are the very basic chords on the guitar web page. I'm looking for tabs of the finger work done.... okay, thanks - Pat. Says: I suppose I could figure it out myself; laziness alone stops me...one could download the abc software program at http://www.gre.ac.uk/~c.walshaw/abc As far as tabs, I checked OLGA, and there was nothing for see my ships, but some other interesting tabs. I've now included it in the guitar tabs list, since Wes Torres seems to change his address weekly lately. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ RE: International VF ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Becky asked about Femmes experiences abroad... I was in Chile over christmas vacation for a mission trip, and we had some time one day to do some shopping. There was a mall nearby with 16 CD stores, so a couple of people, myself included, ventured over there to see if we could find some bootlegs or rare stuff.... While I didn't dig up any rare Femmes, I did find a few of their albums in several stores. In every store I was in, "New Times" and "3" were higher priced than "Violent Femmes" and "Add It Up"...which kind of surprised me. Finally I asked one of the guys working in this store why "New Times" cost so much more than "Add It Up" and he told me that "New Times" is a better album. He gave some reasons too but unfortunetly my spanish wasn't quite good enough to catch them. I just thought it was kinda strange... oh well rob=) Pat. Says: This leads to some interesting questions, which only our non-American subscribers can answer: what are the most popular VF albums in your country? Is New Times more popular elsewhere than it is here? If so, could you send in an explanation why you think that is so? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ How'd They Do That? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ah yes, hell-o. i was listening to "(R)Add it up" the other day when i once again noticed that the version of "Lies" which is on the album seems sort of strange to me. has anyone else noticed this? i am sure all of you astute fans have. i am not really looking for an explanation.......i really don't know what i am looking for. ok. maybe an explanation from you technical gurus out there. ****why does the song seem to morph from a studio version to a live version?** just wondering! emdididy doo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Phil Cody ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Do you know what band is opening for the Femmes this year? I was wondering about Phil Cody in particular (one of the band members and I "shared a moment"). I'm hoping they'll come to the DC area sometime soon. danica Pat. Says: I did a search, and it seems Phil Cody is not touring at this time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I Wanna See You Again...Looking For Rock ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ #1 The last time I saw Femmes was back in April of last year. It was awesome. From what I understand is that they come to the Hill Auditorium every once in a while. I was hoping that I would be able to see them sometime soon. If anyone knows of anything about an up coming show in Ann Arbor, MI, Bowling Green, OH, or anywhere in the area let me know. #2 I am looking for ROCK!!!!! I can't find it anywhere that I have looked. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I could locate it? If so, please contact me at my address: Thanks Angie -Pat. Says: The best place to get ROCK! is off the Official Homepage. The US$12.50 price includes S/H; CA residents must pay tax. If you don't want to order online, just send to the address shown. Sure, it'll take a few weeks, but you've waited this long...what's a little more time? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
