How many times does Brian sound like the Tazmanian Devil on Viva Wisc?
I almost laugh when I hear him making all those grunts and babbles on
‘Old Mother Reagan’ and ‘Ugly’. What an original! I really like the
album and hope its on everyone’s wish list this year. I only wish they
had recorded more banter with the audience, being a live album and all.

WHOA!! Dude, I’ve always thought that I Held Her In My Arms with all
the horns and stuff sounded like “You’re the One That I Want” from
Grease 1. The part where it’s like after the chorus of both songs
sounds similar.
Cool. The Femmes are ripping off Grease. Neat. That’s better than
Jay-Z ripping off Annie!!!

This might be just a shot in the dark but I have written a couple songs
that I think would be good for the femmes. They have a song called
American Music which by the way I think is one of the best. So I have
written a song for them called IN CANADA, I have also written a song
called THE WINDY CITY both of these are for the Femmes and I think they
compliment their styles. Is there anyway I can forward some sort or
proposal to the Femmes; that they would actually see the songs I have
written?

Just a quick note to the recipients of this distribution……I have
finally fulfilled one of my life long dreams, I have taken a part time
job where I am supervising an Ice Arena in the Western New York region,
aside from the obvious perk of actually driving the Zamboni, (trust me
it’s awesome) I also get to run the sound system during the open public
skate sessions. I try to bring in a pretty eclectic mix of music, but
you can rest assured that the Femmes are always on the play list.
Anyway, it is a pretty amazing phenomenon to watch 200+ skaters not bat
an eye at some of my varied music selections, BUT, as soon as I put in
the Femmes…..inevitably more than 3/4 of the crowd is singing and
dancing around the ice surface. As soon as the first chord from
“Blister in the Sun” starts pumping through the speakers, it is amazing
to see SO many people of such diverse backgrounds and ages, share a
love for the same type of music, it’s pretty neat to see them united in
song.
All thanks to the Femmes…..and a pretty hip Ice Arena Supervisor with
some great CDs. Happy Holidays!
