Sorry for the long wait, folks. I got suckered into putting in longer
hours at work, plus everybody here got very sick; some of us even got
pneumonia. But the big factor was that despite my loud protestations
to the contrary, I was losing faith. But now it appears that those
of you over 21 who live in Michigan, and maybe Deana, can usher in
the new year with the Violent Femmes and some of their special friends.

Just a response to djek from the last issue…
there are still some college freshmen who know who the Femmes are, who
love them, and who have seen them in concert eight times… don’t give
up hope quite yet… and i know some people back at my high school who
know and love them as well. Maybe your freshmen haven’t been fortunate
enough to have been exposed to the Femmes in their youth (lots of
people do live deprived childhoods, you know). instead of thinking of
it as a chore, why not think that you’re the chosen one – the one who
gets to enlighten freshmen to one of our nation’s treasures, our
beloved Femmes.
Also, while I’m rambling, “hi” Amber!! What rumors have you been
hearing?? how’s school?
ok, that’s enough from me… back to writing a paper. *sigh*

Rock Question

I just wanted to know if anyone knows if there is two different
versions of the Rock album, and if so what is the difference?
I was on CDnow.com and saw that they had a listing for “Rock” released
in
2000 by a label called Cold Front. They also had for sale the 1995
version released in Australia by Mushroom records.
The 2000 version was selling for 11.99 while the version that I have
was listed at 22.49 (which is about what I paid for it at a record
store).

i have no idea if this has been posted yet, but I found it quite
interesting…Today at work I was doing my normal order processing and
noticed ROCK!!!!!! quite a few times, so I checked it out and sure
enough it is being released next Tues. (Oct. 31st) here in the US on
the indie label Cold Front. I was surprised, so I just thought I’d
let everyone know.
oh yeah, it’s pretty cheap (list price is only $12.99)

World Without Mercy

I just came upon this song, and realized I had never heard it. It’s
World Without Mercy wich appearantly was only released as a bonus track
on the cassette release of Blind Leading the Naked. And it was written
by Brian and Victor.
Any idea if it was realeased anywhere else and whether it is possible
to get it?
