Thanks a million to Eirikur for the sign! I love it so much, I think
I’ll use it again !

I can not find the AUS Violent Femmes shows listed on TM-AUS. If
anyone knows of another OZ online ticket agent, please let me know.
If you know how to get tickets for these two shows, please let me know.
Just out of idle curiosity, are there any subscribers who are employed
as journalists?

After all the Femmes have been through (and we the fans as well!) it’s
finally official – go to CDNOW.com and you can order Viva Wisconsin, to
be delivered Nov. 23! You can also listen to some 30 second MPEG’s of
about half the tracks.

REJOICE!

By the way, “Beyond Records” is apparently a subsidiary of BMG.

I just thought I’d let everybody know that ‘Viva Wisconsin’ is already
listed at http://www.cdnow.com for advanced ordering. Their price is $12.99,
but of course you have to pay shipping. Advance ordering may be a good
idea though in order to show early interest in the album and help
prevent an event like with ‘Freak Magnet.’ Just a thought….

RE: Sonic Session Show
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
what y100 usually does with sonic session shows is admit a limited
number of people who win tickets on the radio, and then broadcast the
show over the airwaves-so those of us in the philadelphia area can
try to find out when it will be and record it-at least i’m willing to
try- y100 also releases cds every once in awhile with like one song
from each sonic session artist-i have a friend who works at y100-i’ll
see him tuesday and ask him when this is all happening.
Selling The Gold + Dublin concert
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello everybody,

Do anybody knows the “Selling The Gold” CD from 1996 (Elliott Murphy)?

What I found (on a commercial site) about people who made it:
Elliott Murphy (vocals, acoustic, electric guitars & 12-string
electric guitars, slide guitar, harp, recorder, piano); Bruce
Springsteen (vocals); Brian Ritchie (acoustic guitar, bass); Kevin
Mulligan (electric, pedal steel & electric 12-string guitars,
mandolin, background vocals); Sonny Landreth (electric slide guitar);
Djoum (E-bow); Frank Deruyter, Serge Plume, Carlo Mertens (horns);
Bertrand Bonello (piano, electric piano, organ, omnichord); Chucho
Merchan (acoustic & electric basses); Andy Newmark (drums); Luis
Jardim (percussion, congas, tambourine); Guy Hoffman (percussion);
Gordon Gano, B.J. Scott, Mieke Delanghe, Patrick Riguelle (background
vocals).
The Violent Femmes: Brian Ritchie (acoustic guitar, bass); Guy
Hoffman (percussion); Gordon Gano (background vocals).
Recorded at I.C.P. Studios, Brussels, Belgium.
All songs written by Elliott Murphy.

It seems that the Femmes like Brussels (where I live) to record (this
CD and the one of Louise Attaque that Gordon produced) but not to do
concerts 🙂
I’m going to the Irish one this time. If someone plans to be there,
don’t hesitate to contact me.

Thanks,

Alexandre
