Razor Madness
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wilkinson Sword are taking legal action against
Gillette for falsely claiming that their razors
provide ‘the best a man can get’ and Gillette
have WS in court claiming that their new Quattro
razor – the world’s first 4-blade razor (!) –
illegally incorporates Gillette’s patented
‘progressive blade geometry’ used in its Mach 3
razor. Nonetheless the Quattro has been released
in the UK and while waiting with bated breath
to see what new and ingenious way they have come
up with to attach the blade to the handle and
what exciting price they intend to get for it –
currently it costs around ?6000 a week to remain
clean-shaven – we have the advert and the advert
has what is unmistakably Blister in the Sun.
It is not a version I have heard before and I
don’t think it is the Femmes at the wheel. It
has more orchestration – keyboards and whatnot
– than the Femmes version and it has a jazzed up
Brian-Ritchie-esque bass-line that is not Brian
Ritchie. I have never heard any of the
cover versions, are any of them studio tracks?
