I have it on vinyl and I think it is great. However it is not Gordons
Solo project. It was a band, who was lead by the singer, not Gordon. I
do think they should have that drummer replace guy though.

hello friends,

let me extend a resounding “WHAT’S UP” to all of you. i just wanted to
add that i am actually the older sibling who is passing down the femmes.
i feel so lucky to be in this position! My little sister is so sweet.
She looks up to me for everything (which is such an awesome feeling) so I
make sure she has “cool” music to listen to. she played her femmes tape
when i came home from school earlier this summer. It was so great because
it was her subliminal way of saying “I missed you so much!”

In response to Tom, tickets for the Lisle show are on sale now. I lost the
paper with the number to call on it, but if my memory serves me its (630)
829-6160.(and you can do a credit card thing and pick them up there if you
need to) I’ll find out tomorrow for sure because I’M PICKING UP MY
TICKETS FOR THE SHOW!!! I’m so very excited. The femmes have been my
favorites for almost four years now and I can’t wait for the concert. I
have a question for everybody. A lot of people have written in about
concerts where they met Gordon and the boys. How do you do it? I would be
able to die happy if I met them. But how is it done? Do you need backstage
passes?
My older brother had a minimal effect on my music taste. In fact when he
was raiding my CDs once and saw that I had six femmes CDs he told me they
were a crappy band and I should burn all their CDs. I should’ve kicked his
ass, but no femmes critic is worth my time. Another question. I was
curious as to what everybody’s favorite song is. Mine is I Saw You In The
Crowd. Next time you listen to that song, pretend Gordon is singing to
you…ohhh Gordon.

hello all.
well.
i just went to my very first femmes show last night.
i had such a great time.
i only wish it was a little less hostile.
i’ve never had any problems at the catalyst before, but i certainly did
last night.
i was fuming the whole concert.
first of all, they put up a mosh guard in front of the stage.
i hate those things.
then, a couple of drunk guys started a fight with my boyfriend.
in the middle of blister. (is truly pissed)

then i my friend summer and i had to hold off the wrestle-mania
bouncers.

then i heard the jerks plotting to jump us after the show.
all beacuse of a stupid super-slut wearing high heels and a cropped-off
tank top to a femmes show.

oh well.

but i still had agreat time.
they played almost every song i wanted to hear, and i few i didn’t
expect to hear. very good show overall./
but the _8_ that’s right, 8 fights just messed everything up. everyone
kept turning around to watch the fights and guy seemed pissed.
but i have come to the conclusion that brian is my hero, and i only wish
that one day i will be as great a musician and as cool of a performer as
he is.

he did a great interlude on the conch during black girls.
andthe didjeridu was amzing.
not to mention the guest performer from india on the sitar.
but alas, i am rambling, and you all have your memories, and don’t need
to hear mine.
oh, just one more thing.
i think gordon has _the_ single most coolest boy-next-door smirk of any
performer i’ve ever seen.
very cool.

I Can’t Contain Myself

You guys help! I’m going to DIE of an…ticipation (yes, that was from
Rocky Horror). Today should be Wednesday and in 2 days, check that TWO,
I’ll be chillin like a mad villan to my fav band of all time. Have any
of you ever sat at a concert and just looked around at the thousands of
people and said “Man, this is someone’s dream concert” and just felt happy
for them? Maybe I’m just weird. I’m dying here and my brother is playing
games with me and telling me that he’s not going to take me. I CAN’T
WAIT. Trust me, as soon as I get back from the show, you’ll all get a
full detailed report!! Anyway, I want to start a new topic. For one
thing, there’s not enough pages about Femmes. And the ppl that keep their
page don’t update it often enough for me to check it out everyday or week
or whatever. I truly love add it up…but, I think I adore the self
titled.
One of my fav songs (besides the classic usuals) is Country Death Song.
The first time I listened to it, I think I almost started crying. The
song is soooo beautiful. Who agrees? Anyone been able to track any of
our favorite entertainers to their homes (grin)? I LOVE VIOLENT FEMMES!!!

OH my gosh! I almost forgot. Ok, I’ve noticed that stations are playing
more and more Femmes songs as we go along. So far I’ve heard Blister in
the Sun, Nightmares, Good Feeling, Lies, and Ugly on the radio. Anyone
have any to add to that??-“I’m just like my father but I am much worse.
He hurt his mother, I hurt mine worse” Just Like My Father-3 (this line
describes me to a C..or B if we go by my handle)

question what is it that makes the femmes so incredible???for me it’s the
lyrics and hard edged folk sound mixed with hypnotic beats and horns and

Sick of BITS, But I’ll Play if You Pay

Just a quick first not: I am in “The Queen is Dead” a Smiths tribute
based out of northern Virginia/ D.C. We may be playing our first show on
Halloween, so anyone interested come.

Also I was playing a show with another band, and in the middle of the set
the singer/guitarist asked me if I knew any Violent Femmes songs. I
almost laughed in his face. The strange,pathetic,and scary part is That
we played Blister in the sun. After I started the whole sick of it thing
I went and played it. But hey, I got a hundred bucks for the night so
I’ll try to live with myself.
