Wow. When I first heard Femmes, Victor was playing. Yes, with brushes..
looked like basting brushed. When I found out that Victor left and that
Guy was in now, I was totally not for it. I don’t like Guy. In reference
to the soundtrack of Grosse Point Blank. Listen closely to Blister in the
Sun. Now, listen to it on the self-titled. Whoever said that the 2 songs
were exactly the same is crazy. Gorno sings it differently. You can hear
the changes with the drums. Just go and listen and you’ll come back and
say “Wow, Beyz was right”. Glad to see a quote of mine (from a letter)was
used. Why was a letter re-posted in response to it though? I’ve seen the
same message twice. Oh, and I say Victor is cuter than Dry (by a big long
shot). I’m kind of interested to know what other kinds of music Femmes
fans listen to. I’ll start. Less Than Jake, The Queers, Counting Crows,
Jewel, No Doubt, Sublime, Tory Voodoo, Rancid, Dead Milkmen, Mighty Mighty
Bosstones, Bauhaus, Mazzy Star, Goldfinger (I get to see them in concert..
yeah), They Might Be Giants, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Squirrel Nut
Zippers, Concrete Blond, The Offspring, NOFX, Mephiskaphales, and tons
of others. Talk about versatile tastes. Keep sending me votes on fav and
least fav songs. I want at least 50 so I can do the math quick fast.

uhh hummm…drummmmm i think i gave you some good reasons drumming
reasons why guy is good…i don’t think well i know he is not better but
you have to look at the way the drums are created and the music is simple
especially rock……you remember the hand solo i told you about….some
hard evidence of guys originality as a drummer….so you did get a good
argument…and did i mention he is nice….just kidding=)

Technically Victor is better as a drummer this much is true

As a matter of fact I have easily talked to Brian and Gordon, but found
it much harder to find guy because he is always on the bus before anyone
else. I had to run up to him before he got on to meet him, then when Brian
and Gordon came out, guy left.

<< LIVE IN THE NOW MAN! Last time I checked it was Victor who
left the Femmes and the fans not the other way around. Now there’s
something Victor did that made me say Wow!
BTW if it’s just about the Music for ya enjoy it and just don’t buy the
T-shirts and crap! Oh and you might want to get rid of the liner for New
Times ’cause a drummer who shall remain nameless designed it :O !>>

O.K. Victor left and that sucked. Guy is a crappy art designer, and a
crappy drummer. He said to my face that the femmes was the easiest gig
he’s ever had. EASY?!?! That just shows how little effort he puts into
the music, he needs to stop designing shit and start practicing!

but in truth the star was introduced at the same time as the ROCK!!!!!
name to correspond with the album cover.
For those of you who dont know, this list used to be called The Violent
Femmes Mailing List of VFML and i don’t think there was any art for the
header. God i miss running this list… AAAAHHHHHH MEMORIES! 🙂

Video for nightmares. I have it on tape from like 88 or 89. I guess
that’s when it came out. Pretty cool though. Also on tape I have: Gone
daddy gone,american music, breaking up, I held her in my arms, plus live
footage from 120 minutes, and interviews.

As I seem to have started something on hating B.I.T.S. I just want to say
two things. Blister 200, I actually think it is cool, and it would be
better for them to play that rather than the same old version. Also as
far as phish goes, well I wont say just how I feel about phish (might
upset too many people) I think it was kinda cool that they covered it,
even though the femmes are and always will be superior to phish.

Tranceaphone: I’m not sure of the dimensions, but it is a floor tom
mounted on a snare type stand. I sort of have one. The metal pole
obviously can be found at any hardware store.

I am quite new to this list and have been reading the digests for a
few weeks. I believe introductions are in order, therefore:)

My name’s Esther, and my boyfriend and I love the VF. I may not be
qualified to call myself a Violent Femmes “FAN”, as I don’t know all
their albums, just one – of which I don’t even know the name (I know,
shame on me). BUT, the few songs I do know, I love. I hope that’s
enough 🙂

Not quite Belgian, but Dutch] But I am living in the UK at the moment.
Incidentally, my boyfriend is from Australia and he is the one that
introduced me to the Femmes’ music. That’s all I wanted to say really.
But I do have a question:

Does anyone have any idea whether the Femmes will be touring Europe
any time soon…? My boyfriend… okay, I hate referring to him as “my
boyfriend”, so I’ll call him Ashley from now on – which is his name,
so that makes sense. Anyway, Ashley and I keep looking out for info on
them, but they don’t seem to be coming anywhere near us soon… 🙁

I’d absolutely *lurve* to see them play live, so I’m feeling a bit
jealous of all you folks in the States… 🙂

Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone out there has music for The
VIOLENt FemMeS for piano. I know there are chords and tab. But we
don’t all play guitar ya’ know 🙂 Some of their songs even have
piano-like instruments in them. I’d love to be able to turn my
synthesizer to xylphone and play the Gone Daddy Gone solo for example.
Anyone have or ever heard of VF for the piano?
