HOB – Set Fantasy…

Okay – This is cool. This is VERY cool. The HOB broadcast I mean. The
sound quality is excellent!
I’m not getting streaming vid so I’m just sitting here in the dark …
listening … mmm … listening … and thinking …listening …
Hallowed Ground … thinking … Sig, Sig, Sig – I really hope they
include the Pabst show version of that one on the live album …
listening to … I Hear the Rain… thinking… God I love that
song … listening to … Good Feeling … thinking … heh heh – I
can’t tell you what I’m thinking … listening to … Gone Daddy
Gone … thinking … ahh the show’s over too soon again …
Okay so about half way through the show I started thinking about how
that one guy said he just wanted the Femmes to “Rock Out” and about how
everyone’s been submitting their dream concert line-up. What about
dreaming up a set? We’ve all left a show wishing we’d heard something,
I feel badly for saying this, but I was pretty disappointed with the
Summerfest set. Listening to it again tonight, though, I realized it
really wasn’t that bad. I guess it just didn’t fit my mood then. So I
decided to give set writing a go – it’s a lot tougher than I thought!
I want to hear all my favorites – but I found there’s no way to work
them all in there – some of them just don’t go together. You also
can’t just throw the songs out there in random order – you have to plan
peaks & valleys in the tension – take it to the edge and back and at
some point over – but when? Okay before I go over the deep end in
analysis – here’s what I came up with:
