DriversFest ’99
Free tickets … ?

I don’t know what you have to do to get them, but it doesn’t look too

Dear Volkswagen Owner,

Okay, by now you’ve heard from us a few times about DriversFest ’99.
But keep reading…there’s something you’ll definitely want to know.
We’re giving YOU two complimentary tickets to the big event.

To get your tickets, simply call the DriversFest ’99 Headquarters at
800.434.5280, give them your name, and refer to this email.

If you’ve already bought a ticket for DriversFest ’99, you’re still
eligible for the two complimentary tickets. Share them with your
friends and family. (Unfortunately there are no refunds for
previously purchased tickets.)

If you need MORE than two tickets, you can still get them for just
$15 (U.S.). Visit our Web site at or call

Remember, the big bash will include: An all-day Music Festival at the
famous Jones Beach Theatre featuring some of the hottest bands
around: The Verve Pipe, Violent Femmes, Dishwalla, Econoline Crush
and The Razorbacks. A Performance Driving Clinic* with special guest
instructor Indy 500 winner Danny Sullivan. A “Drive and Shine” Car
Show*, New Car Test Drives*, a Lifestyle Exposition featuring
Microsoft, K2 and Trek, and much more.

This is your chance to have a whole day of Volkswagen-style fun at
the beach on us! What could be better?

So pick up the phone, get your free tickets, load up your Volkswagen
and get ready for the beach. We look forward to seeing you Saturday,
August 28, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Jones Beach.

See you at the beach,
Volkswagen DriversFest ’99 Committee

*You must be at least 18 years old to participate in this event, have
a valid driver’s license, and you will have to sign a waiver.

# James Welborn (JW1560)

P.S. Could I get the information for all the people that are signed
up already for the Portland show and get their e-mail?

Here’s the personal stuff for me for the contest.

They also ask you to write a few paragraphs on why you (or I) should be
the ones to host this home invasion.

Jones Beach Booter?

HOB – Set Fantasy…
Okay – This is cool. This is VERY cool. The HOB broadcast I mean. The
sound quality is excellent!
I’m not getting streaming vid so I’m just sitting here in the dark …
listening … mmm … listening … and thinking …listening …
Hallowed Ground … thinking … Sig, Sig, Sig – I really hope they
include the Pabst show version of that one on the live album …
listening to … I Hear the Rain… thinking… God I love that
song … listening to … Good Feeling … thinking … heh heh – I
can’t tell you what I’m thinking … listening to … Gone Daddy
Gone … thinking … ahh the show’s over too soon again …
Okay so about half way through the show I started thinking about how
that one guy said he just wanted the Femmes to “Rock Out” and about how
everyone’s been submitting their dream concert line-up. What about
dreaming up a set? We’ve all left a show wishing we’d heard something,
I feel badly for saying this, but I was pretty disappointed with the
Summerfest set. Listening to it again tonight, though, I realized it
really wasn’t that bad. I guess it just didn’t fit my mood then. So I
decided to give set writing a go – it’s a lot tougher than I thought!
I want to hear all my favorites – but I found there’s no way to work
them all in there – some of them just don’t go together. You also
can’t just throw the songs out there in random order – you have to plan
peaks & valleys in the tension – take it to the edge and back and at
some point over – but when? Okay before I go over the deep end in
analysis – here’s what I came up with:

Didgeriblues Nothing Don’t Start me on the Liquor Blister
Sweet Misery Blues I Hear the Rain Cold Canyon Key of 2
Make More Money Outside the Palace All I Want Hey Nonny Nonny
I Danced Forbidden Dance MF Bad Color Me Once Mother of a
Girl Good Feeling I Know It’s True But I’m Sorry to Say
Hallowed Ground Jesus Walking Life is an Adventure Flamingo
Baby Gone Daddy Gone Death Drugs Never Tell
Encore – Breakin’ Up Confessions
2nd Encore – Old Mother Reagan Tonight Add it Up

What do ya’ll think? Don’t worry I won’t quit my day job!

PS – Anybody going to the Jones Beach show?

RE: Manson
<< When you have children (I assume you don’t) that listen to the
equivalent of Marilyn Manson >>

I sure hope my kids don’t listen to anthing close to Marilyn Manson
I admit I like “punk” but manson is getting a bit heavy and a bit crazy
for my likings

hope i didn’t offend anyone out there

oh thanks for the input OPKUTech and thanks for the suggestions Liz
