Just was reading through the mail and noticed Femmes are playin’ in
Fresno at the fairgrounds… so I check out Pollstar for more info…
that day there are hella more bands listed as playin… includin’ the
Urge… so it’s like I have to go… so is this stop not part of the
Folk Fest or what? More info if anyone knows would be appreicated.

A few years ago i used to walk my neighbours’ dog. We used to walk for
miles in the Essex countryside. I used to sing Femmes songs at the top
of my voice. I sang them to me, to the fields, to rabbits, hares, deer,
but most of all to Tess the dog. I used to sing to her that one day i
would take over the world and then the next weekend i would learn
french. Tess would wag her tail at that. Or maybe she just wagged her
tail anyway. Point is, I love ‘machine’. To bits. And i always use a
paragraph when a sentence would do.

My most hated song is the one that goes ‘see my ships coming into the
harbour…’. If only cos i associate it with splitting up with a
couple of girlfriends at different times. Twice when i have finished
with birds I’ve had it on and just thought ‘whoops (what might have
been)’. Now i fear something bad will happen if i hear the song.
Maybe i should see a doctor or something.

Finally. Are there any English or Dutch (i am moving from england to
holland next month) readers who know where i can get hold of ‘hallowed
ground’?

My spring was a bummer, but i seem to be standing the summer.

Well, I’ll add my .02 here. I have to say that I can not listen to
Jesus of Rio. I can even handle World Without Mercy, because the
instrumentals are nice, even if the vocals are…well…weak. And yes,
I like Machine. On another note, I can’t listen to Country Death Song.
It is a great song, I know, and live it is very moving. In fact it may
be the best song they’ve done. The problem I have with it is that it is
so very visual. It is too upsetting for me because I can visualize the
whole scenario in my head. It is too traumatic.

Im currently living in Melbourne Australia and wish to find out if the
Femmes are heading this way anytime soon?

album is released, they will be gearing up for a world tour.
Since they seem to like Australia very much, I am sure they
will include some dates there.
