VF Fascination With Japan?

I live in Japan, and hang out in this little bar where I have converted
some locals in Violent Femmes fans, and they want to know why the
Femmes make references to Japan in a couple of their songs? First in
Add It Up, and later in Life is an Adventure? I am just wondering. If
anyone knows please let me know.

Canadian Distributer

I am distributing the video in Canada. Send me a new video that will
hold 6 hours and $5 postage and I will send you one. Its a great video.
You will enjoy it. I’d love help distributing it also as I only have
one VCR now so it is hard to tape. Let me know if interested.

appreciate the time and effort you put into putting this out for us —

once I get my dubbing on the VCR’s working again, I too can be a
distributor, but no gurantees. The one VCR is at the shop awaiting an
estimate.

Compilation Update

Wednesday is my next day off. I will be searching through back AM
issues to find the names of the people who had originally agreed to
distribute, and therefore as far as I know have 1st gen copies of this
compilation video. I will also list what exactly is on it. Glenn has
been the only one periodically reminding people he is a distributer.
I believe there’s one in Arizona, one on the east coast somewhere, one
in England, and one in Australia. And there’s also Eric in Maine
willing to do some distribution (see last issue), but he may not have
the complete video. I know there’s a lot of you who want this vid,
and I’ll try my best to finally get it to you. Those of you who
agreed to distribute: Get the ball rolling! contact a few people on
the wish list and get a few copies out, Please.

RE: Furniture Concert

Yeah I have to agree that the furniture store concert would seem odd.
I can’t imagine any company wanting the violent femmes to play to sell
their merchandise. I would shop at this furniture store that is for
sure if it is true. It would only work if the store had funky stuff
I think. Cause the femmes are quirky. A store that would appeal to
the consumer who wants something a little off the wall. I have
trouble seeing a store like value city furniture which sells
traditional items having the femmes play at an event hosted by them.
But who knows I have seen some odd crap in my time.
I went to a concert several years ago in Nashville and Fleetwood Mac
and Kiss played. Fleetwood Mac kicked ass. But thought it was a
little cooky to see those two bands on the same bill.

KROQ Update

I am in listening range of KROQ and they are not playing the femmes
outside of the “Flashback Lunch.”

When they do, its Blister, Add it up, Kiss Off and occasionally AM or
Prove my Love.

Keep up the requests for Sleepwalkin’ and I will let the group know if
it ever sees the light of day.

ok a few things…
#1 the way i see it we don’t even have to go to the site everytime
we want to request a song on kroq. the email is just
requests
i’m assuming you just say ” i want to request..” in the mail. so i
think thats a little easier than going through the site everytime.
sorry if everyone else already figured this out.

#2 everytime i go to a cd store i always check out what femmes cds
they have, just cause i’m curious to see what different places have. it
finally paid off. I was in Media Play in Hamilton Ohio (i think) this
week and i found Rock!!!!! import cd. I’ve always had this on tape
cause i was too lazy and poor to order the cd off the internet. so i
never really listened to it, cause tapes are a hassle. and it was only
$12… i’m not sure but think thats cheaper than on the site.
