Femmes Tour Date Confusion

I was looking on their official home page and the dates for the Newport
Folk Festival are different. You have them in Columbia, MD on Aug 16
while the home page has them in Wash DC on Aug 18. Which one is
correct?

Also, are they definetly on the bill for either, or both?

-Pat. Says: I’ve already email Neil about this, but there must be more
of you who are wondering. Pollstar, Ticketmaster, and the
Newport Folk Fest homepage all list the DC date as the 16th.
And now I see that the Official Homepage has corrected this
typo. Speaking of the Official Homepage, let me first say
that for some months I’ve had audio problems, which are now
corrected. So tell me, how long has the Blister clip been
playing when the Homepage comes up? And I can’t believe that
nobody has mentioned the VF version of My Way, which you can
hear with shockwave when you click on the Tribute!

It’s the 4th annual FallFest @ West Virginia University.

It’s to be held outside in a large, open air plaza in the heart of
campus. I talked to the Arts & Entertainment Director today and she said
they do NOT check ID’s so students and NON-students are welcome.
She said to expect anywhere from 5 to 25 thousand people!

Hey I was in Cleveland too! I was right up front, right in front of
Gordon the entire time. It was probably the best of out of the four
Femmes shows I’ve seen. Oh and speaking of the Rock and Roll Hall of
Fame, I got kicked out of there 5 hours before that concert started for
no reason whatsoever. Corporate Fascists! Hey, I thought I read
somewhere that a tranceaphone was on display in the Hall. Of course I
didn’t get a chance to go see it if there is. !%$@. Oh well.

Punk the Folk

Hi all femmes, I just wanted to share an odd little connection i just
made. The chorus of Rejoice has always seemed a bit familiar to me, I’d
heard it before somewhere. It’s taken me about a month of high order
analytic thought, but it’s come down to that the Rejoice chorus sounds
much like the chorus of an Operation Ivy song called “Hoboken.” Which,
by the way, is probably the most song ever crammed into 1 minute and 10
seconds. Anyone else in the world (beyond the bay area) listen to Op
Ivy? I’ve always liked the moniker of “folk punk” for the femmes, it
fits a lot of their songs. This is just another nice example.
