Victor Delorenzo’s new Instant Composition band, “A Free Society” will be making it’s debut at the Bremen Cafe on Sunday, June 12th, at 8 pm! Victor says they’ve been working on an album since last November, and they hope to have it finished within the next month! Free music for free-minded people…don’t miss it!

Longtime HOD Leader (he’s the only one man enough to handle the job IMHO) and VF keyboardist Sigmund Snopek will be presenting his BEER and Prog Rock shows at Milwaukee’s Locust Street Festival Sunday, June 12th. Sig will be on the Klinger’s East stage at 11am with the BEER show and back again at 6:30 with his ROCK show. Rumor has it he will also be sitting in with Pat McDonald (from Timbuk 3) at 5pm.
Mod’s Note – Both of these venues are in Milwaukee’s Riverwest neighborhood so it’s sausages and virgin sturgeons for breakfast, transcendental prog afternoons and Mr. D’s Free Society sparking up the evening tomorrow. Come early and stay all day!

I’m 14 years old and the Violent Femmes are one of my favorite bands. The other one is The Pixies. I recently saw the Violent Femmes at UMBC Feildhouse on April 30th and they were the best live band ever. I got great pictures of the band (ones of Brian looking AND smiling at the camera and good ones of Gordan and Victor). Also Brian gave me his pick when I asked him for it. I really hope the Femmes will read this letter and the Femmes will write back. Anyway I want the Femmes to play at my High School graduation party and I know thats about four years away, but I want them to be there. So if this note gets to the band stay together for ever. I want to get my kids into this band and take them to one of your comcerts so they could see how great they were when I saw them years before. Anyway I though I would share some of my memories about this memorable band. My uncle who plays similar music like you guys introduced me to this band when I was about four. Thus Blister in the Sun was my favorite song for the next 10 years. My Uncle is David Morreale and his recorded stuff sounds nothing like you guys, but stuff that he plays live is very similar. You should check him out if this is Brian, Gordan, or Victor reading this. If Brian is reading this thanks for giving me your pick. I am going to two of you guys concerts this summer. The one in Virginia beach I think it is and the one in Baltimore at Power Plant Live. So if you guys read this look out for me I’ll be in the front row.
