Well, here we are, back again. This place has been sounding much like
a TB ward or something similar. Those of you who have children know what
disease carriers they are. In addition, I spent quite awhile eradicating
Internet Explorer and Outlook Express from my computer, and substituting
with Netscape and DTSMail. Got sick of all those crashes. Then I had to
manually import and export most of my files. ugh. Am I the only one who
always seems to have computer problems?

Video project is shifted into HIGH gear! I have to be in Memphis Feb
6-18th & after that I’ll be living in the park until our deadline –
March 22. Sooo… the comp’s got to be completed no later than Feb 5th.
There are 4 people who’ve promised vids that I haven’t gotten yet so I
guess we need to make a FINAL – FINAL call for vids.

I looked it up and saw nothing…I saw MONSTER MAGNET…sure you didn’t
mix that up with it? I looked and even did a search on the Femmes and it
didn’t bring up Freak Magnet…I even e-mailed the Femmes to let them
know of this…now I feel like an idiot…..where on the site and when
did you see this…maybe they did have it and have been asked to remove
it? Who knows….

for $115.00 on Ebay. Crazy. The person who made that bid
does not seem to be a subscriber, and s/he is bidding
outrageous amounts of money on a lot of VF stuff.

When I went to Hawaii last summer I brought my acoustic guitar with me
on American Airlines afraid that it would have pretty much the same fate
as yours. Keep in mind this is a flight from D.C. so I put a lock on
the case which ended up missing when I went to retrieve it. I guess
they thought my guitar was a bomb or something so they cut off the lock
to look inside. Who knows.
I’ll be in the San Francisco area at the end of this month so put me on
the list for the Fillmore show. My two best friends, their dormmates, a
few other random people and myself will be going, so anyone going should
meet up us. Feel free to email me if you like.
Pat, I can’t believe I missed you at the New Years show (which was
fucking incredible despite the fact that there were dozens of drunken
assholes who were very insistent on moshing with us stuck in the middle),
I feel so bad. I didn’t think you were going to be there though. 🙁
Oh well, maybe later this year they’ll play at the 9:30 club again.

Funny, I’ve had the exact opposite experience… anyone else?
I think Guy is VERY quiet and reserved… Gordon, on the other hand,
has always been very friendly and chatty when I’ve talked to him…
he’s even asked *me* questions (about what I liked on Freak Magnet,
etc.). Guy has walked away from me on occassion, and always seems to
“disappear” after shows… anyone who was backstage at the Pabst show
in Milwaukee on Halloween will agree with that. I think once you talk to
Guy long enough on a subject that interests him he becomes more
friendly, but I personally think Gordon is the most outgoing of the band
(Brian is too, of course, but I think Gordon is a little more so).

Not only have I never found Gordon to be rude but I have found him to go
out of his way to be friendly and kind. He always seems to find the
person in the crowd who most appreciates his attention. Once, he came
back in to where I was hanging out backstage to ask me if he had said
goodbye to me. I find him an extremely kind and sensative man. He
doesn’t even have to be that nice, I would have liked him anyway.

I wanted to tell everyone about something i found on the official web
page (vfemmes.com) will poking around the place over winter break.
Awhile back AM was buzzing about the new Femmes song about Reggie
White’s inflammatory racist/homophobic comments. Everyone was debating
whether it was a satire of Reggie’s closed-mindedness or they actually
agreed with him. Well, if you go to the page and go to the “Soundbytes”
section you can download the entire Real Audio of the song and decide
for yourself. It’s called “Oh Reggie.” If you ask me it’s pretty
obvious what side the Femmes would take on such comments, but I’ll let
the informed fanbase make their own call.
